Pathward's Senior Vice President of Business Development and Product Strategy for Banking as a Service Aleksandra Teichman spoke with Timmy Nafso, Executive Vice President and Co-founder of Fortis and host of Fortis’ Embedded podcast. During the interview, Teichman talked about her career and how it led her to her current role at Pathward.
She discussed Pathward’s purpose of financial inclusion and how Pathward is supporting many partners as a sponsor bank. Teichman shared her thoughts on the speed at which the payments industry is moving, the need to balance that speed with security and stability, and much more.
When asked how Pathward elegantly handles its role as a partner bank, Teichman responded, “As much as we want to ensure that we’re all doing the right things and that it’s all within the confines of the regulatory environment, whether it’s a federal or a state regulator or the networks because they’re a regulating body, too, we also want to make sure that we’re able to help you grow your business. We're doing it in a sustainable way, so that’s all really important for us. At the end of the day, you don’t have to think about the sponsor bank when you’re the consumer.”
